In my screenwriting class, we got into a big side discussion about the writing process. The biggest controversy was over whether or not to outline.  I am staunchly Team Outline. Before I started outlining I never finished anything (other than poetry). Once I started outlining, I completed story after story after screenplay – so I’m hooked!

The biggest recommendation my teacher had was to write every day, even if only for five minutes. Since actually sitting down and writing is the hardest part – followed closely by “what to write about??” – I bought a writing prompt book to light a fire under my britches.

So, here’s my first use of that book which, by the way, is 1000 Awesome Writing Prompts by Ryan Andrew Kinder.

Writing Prompt: Two Paragraphs on the Meaning of Love Without Using the Letter “e

Looking full on at your man and visualizing only optimum joy is what it’s all about. It’s knowing that you trust him and that you want him around always. It’s having your guy’s back and knowing that your guy has yours.

The most amazing thing is that you allow your world to match a quality in him that lights you up. You install a mirror in your own soul that shows adoration all around you. It is worth any cost, any load, and all waiting. It is God.
